Same thing here. Got into MIT for my parents. Became a doctor. All my parents’ dream for me. I will say that it’s not a bad place to start… they literally wanted the best for me and this is what they envisioned. So I look at it as they did their part, the rest of the story is up to me. As someone that is a gifted kid, I like being in my class. With the regular classes I see the work as easy and I would honestly be bored. We get a bit more work but I get it done in time and it’s basic for me. My teachers don’t let us being in the gifted class get to our ego too. As long as it doesn’t get to someone’s ego it’s honestly fine. I think there still should be gifted classes. Also, by high school, I know it’s hard but I was already prepared for that, because no matter who it was they said high school is hard and I know I’m going to have to do my best to do good and not just think I’m smart and nothing’s going to be hard. But this is just my personal experience and opinion. Also, at least for my school, the gifted program is quite new, because before we had one classroom we would go to every week and do stuff in there, but now there are classrooms. Again. This is just my opinion and experience and I’m not everybody. And I would like to hear if anyone else had a different experience with the gifted classrooms.

One of the best interviews I've seen. You can tell the questions are thought out and there is a genuine interest to understand the other person. Also I really appreciate how even when you construct a compelling narrative (fascination with the natural world) when he rebuffed you you're able to take it and be open to the truth. I think I struggle with that in general.
